The Two Sides (2007): I'm Back (Like An Angel In The Sky)

Story
This song was one of the first ones I wrote for the disc. After hearing the principal loop, the words "Yes, I'm back, I'm back" came into me, and the whole lyrics came by themselves.

However, I was inspired by the movie, "Collateral". I watched the movie early that day, and was thinking about it when I wrote the lyrics.

The first take of this song appears in the "A few words" bonus disc. An electric version, which I never used later, also appears there.

Concept
Our protagonist of the story, after having protested a lot a while ago ("Nothing Is Like It Used To Be"), succumbs to the system, but to its obscure side.

The unnamed protagonist is a paid assassin now, and goes to see his boss, to tell him he's back, but the boss doesn't want him anymore, so the protagonist kills him in the end, and leaves the scene.

Technical stuff

Although not a mistake, the correct form of saying this would be "like an angel from the sky". This was done deliberately, because "like an angel in the sky" was thought as a metaphor as the protagonist returning to his job (the sky being his job). The metaphor didn't refer to the fact that he was returning to his job, and his apparition was reminiscent of an angel coming from the sky. However, the 2012 version of the song has the lyrics "like an angel from the sky", using the second interpretation of the metaphor instead, and the title is renamed as just, "I'm Back".
