The Two Sides (2007): The Third Side

Story
"The third side" was one of the last songs I made for "The two sides". After realizing that the title of the disc would be, effectively, The Two Sides (life and death), I decided to write about the place before life. Since the first side is life, and the second side is death, this pre-life stage was penned by me as The Third Side.

The first version of the song resulted to be the final one, except it was slower. For the final version, the song was sped up a little, but was essentially the same.

Concept
Shifting from God's point of view in "Parody of the existence", "The third side" locates a soul before living, in this mysterious side of the existence. Another soul presents him to this side, and gets him ready for the things to come. The lyrics contain references to the surprise that such side exists, when the title of the disc names only two sides.

Lyrics

Welcome to the third side
I think this wasn't in your mind
The third side, yes, it does exist
It has always been here

And what do you think about this?
You may ask what it is
I can't tell you, you'll have to guess
There's a clue: you're not alive nor dead

The third side, where you are, man
is a place which is both cool and warm
And you'll see fantastic people of all around
Which haven't been alive and also haven't died

And why are you here?
That's a question full of me
I don't know, I wanna know
Know the answer? Oh no, no, no

Soon you'll go to the first side
where is all the people alive
And then you'll go to the second side
where is all the people that have died

The third side, where you are, man
is a place which is both cool and warm
And you'll see fantastic people of all around
Which haven't been alive and also haven't died
The third side, where you are, man
is a place which is both cool and warm
And you'll see fantastic people of all around
Haven't been alive and haven't died

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh...
The third side, oh, oh, oh...

Technical stuff
Lyrics by James Castells. Produced by David Constante and James Castells.
There's a mistake in the choruses: it is told "fantastic people of all around". The correct form would be "fantastic people from all around". In the 2012 version, this mistake is fixed.
