The Two Sides (2007): The Beginning

Story
Ironically, "The Beginning" was one of the last songs I wrote for the disc.

Once I had completed the other tracks, I had decided that "Parody of the existence" would be the first track of the disc, since it tells the story of God creating the world. However, I wanted to go further, and wrote a song about the creation of God itself.

The lyrics are pretty simple - the song is just a setup for the next tracks. However, every story has its beginning, and this is the start for this story.

Concept
The song (and the disc itself) begins with a mysterious, space-like sound, which represents the emptiness of the whole in that point of time.

The song then shifts to a happier tone, in which God is created, while the lyrics shout, "Oh, oh, yeah, the beginning, oh yeah".

The last line - "Oh, oh, yeah, the beginning, or the end?" - is an ironic line, which means, that perhaps by the creation of God, everything was destined to fail, just like happens in the next song.

The track ends with the sound of water, since, before creating the world, "the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters". (Genesis 1, 2).

Lyrics

Oh, oh yeah, the beginning, oh yeah
Oh, oh yeah, the beginning, oh yeah
Oh, oh yeah, the beginning, oh yeah
Oh, oh yeah, the beginning, oh yeah

Oh, oh yeah, the beginning, oh yeah
Oh, oh yeah, the beginning, oh yeah
Oh, oh yeah, the beginning, oh yeah
Oh, oh yeah, the beginning, or the end?
